Tarot Psychic readings – The Regal Arch

Tarot in Psychic Readings – The Regal Arch Spread

The Regal Arch Tarot spread is a simple nine card layout, which unsurprisingly, takes the shape of an arch. This Tarot spread is usually used for a quick general reading when time is limited.

It isn't necessary to use a Significator for this spread. The questioner shuffles the cards until she feels comfortable that they are well mixed. Using their left hand, the cards are cut into three separate piles. They are then gathered up into a single packet in any order.

This is my preferred method of cutting the Tarot deck, and I  use it almost always for all of the Tarot spreads I use regularly.

The Tarot cards are taken back by the reader and laid face down in the following order forming the arch:

The first three cards represent the past, the second three (4 5, and 6) signify the present, and the final three, the possible future outcome. If a theme for the reading is required, the fifth card can be placed face up. This being the significator card, will then represent the focus of the layout, and can be the influence for the reading. It is not necessary to use the significator card in this way, although if it is not clear if the sitter has any particular questions, it can reveal underlying influences.

The usual method for this spread is to read card number one first, then number two, and so on until the reading is complete. If, when turning the first card over, you do not receive an impression, turn the next two cards over simultaneously, you will then feel a pattern emerge. Reading the cards in blocks of three, will make it a lot easier for you, especially if you are just learning to trust your intuition.

From the first three cards, you should get an impression of the questioners situation & recent past. You should reveal the story shown on the cards, to confirm your thoughts, that you are on the right track. Cards four, five and six will represent the present situation. When you come to card number five, mention this as being the significator and slide it forward. Next, read the final three Tarot cards, the possible influence for the future.

Example Tarot Regal Arch reading

Quick interpretation :
“There has been some unexpected news or good fortune in the recent past, and possibly the loss of faith in an acquaintance, in your circle perhaps (6 Wands reversed). This has brought about a paradigm shift in your thoughts, along with some new found faith in your intuition (Strength).

Some thoughts or even plans for future travel with someone close have more than likely been made (6 Swords). There also appears to have been some recent news of, or from, an old friend ( Knight of Cups reversed).

The fifth card, which is the key card,, represents present emotions, and indicates there may be some concern whether or not there will be an improvement in finances linked to following your dream, plus if a positive change will take place in regard to a certain relationship (King of Wands).

This change may have already- begun to manifest (Ten Swords reversed), but be on the alert for some unfounded gossip.

There will be a period when things will seem to come to a standstill, this will be a a good time for relaxation, spiritual focus, and to plan ahead.  (Four of Swords reversed),

A decision will be made, but not before some careful consideration and protracted weighing up of the situation (Two of Pentacles reversed).

The outcome is very good indeed for everyone concerned. Plans and decisions will all work out to your best advantage (Ace Cups).” After the reading is where I would layer on my intuitive impressions. This Spread is great for a quick focused Tarot experience.

To your success x Paul

Tarot Readings – Psychic Readings – Discovering your passion

The power of images ! I mentioned this photograph to my sister just the other day. Though she had forgotten it, I could actually see it in my minds eye & am so happy it still exists. It is a photograph of me giving readings at a party looking every inch the Irish Gypsy !. We thought it had been lost in the mists of time. Then whilst my sis was sorting some old Christmas cards, what should flutter to the ground ?. The mysterious black cat was called Chan, half siamese, she certainly used all of her 9 lives to the full !. The crystal ball belonged to my mother & I have recently re-acquired it, it's power is again energising our home.

The period of my life represented by this photograph, some 30+ years ago, corresponded to me finally discovering my passion, my purpose, my raison d'être if you will. In retrospect I should not have been unleashed at that party !, I had recently been gifted my first Tarot & was just firing impressions that I was receiving. I remember telling one lady that a greenhouse was significant, ( it transpired that an event had occurred in a greenhouse that wasn't exactly in keeping with the lighthearted atmosphere of the party). I told one gentleman that he drove a fire engine, the sirens literally ringing in my ears. He did not, but he did work on a council department that had recently been given responsibility for the fire department. I asked another gentleman to select a card & when he drew the Devil card I started describing his dark side that he kept well hidden. His wife agreed wholeheartedly, unfortunately this guy's quite committed christian sensibilities were challenged & my readings were swiftly curtailed by our host.
After that party, I remember feeling elated, that I had discovered, finally, something that I really enjoyed. Interacting with people & giving readings was something I knew I was destined to do for the rest of my life.

Responsibility & encouragement
Now many years later, & after many 1,000s of readings I still have unbridled enthusiasm for giving readings. However, I now realise the responsibility involved in performing a reading. Though I was enthusiastic & excited to be entertaining the guests, I hadn't yet worked out the dynamics of an empowering experience for my sitter.
Yesterday I was giving a reading for a lady & showed her this fabulous photo that had just arrived in the post. As the reading progressed I saw that what I was doing was completely different to how the boy on the photograph would have approached the situation. The card that kept re-appearing was the Eight of Cups, The Lord of Abandoned Success. Although this Lady talked continuously of how happy she was, how important her very corporate job was, how fulfilled she was, I sensed that maybe this was simply not the case. In this card, a figure turns from Eight stacked Cups. Behind the Cups a river needs to be crossed, the moon pulls at the emotions. As I discussed the imagery of the card with this lovely lady a strange transition occurred. She told me that she had indeed reached an impasse & realised that the job that absorbed most of her life had recently, & quite rapidly, lost all meaning. She wanted to follow her heart & carve out a more fulfilling career using her artistic creativity. She had discussed this with her partner & he was completely in agreement, full of encouragement & even said that he couldn't wait to get the person he loved back, not the corporate robot who had recently invaded her body !.

The purpose of this post is this, in an ideal world, in order to feel fulfilled & to be successful. An individual needs to marry their drive, their passion, to every aspect of their existence. Sometimes they just need a little push to realise what it is that will finally make them happy.

Are you living your life, have you discovered what it is that makes you feel alive, excited ?.
When we discover what it is that drives us, we should do everything we can to make that our focus.

I wish you only success,

Paul x

Tarot, Creating Your story with the Major Arcana

Since my first encounter with Tarot, the infinite stories contained in
the combination of this most inspirational book with no pages has fired
my imagination.

The most important story contained in this magical oracle is the unique
journey that unfolds for every person who I'm privileged to read for.
Wherever they are on their path, whatever situations they are facing,
it is always possible for the questioner to begin to create a new
story. Every one who has a Tarot reading can begin to release the past,
re-imagine their future, envisage different opportunities that they may
not have previously considered.

I have detailed many times the moment I was gifted my first Tarot deck,
& how that moment changed my life forever. How as the images danced
before me, I began to absorb the subliminal symbols. Watched as endless
combinations of narratives appeared, each card beginning to reveal
it's secrets and meanings.

I still get many emails asking about the meanings of Tarot. The truth
is as a good intuitive, once you have gone beyond the textbook
interpretations, it is the messages that begin to arise through your
subconscious that will develop your relationship with your cards &
hopefully spark a lifelong fascination.

Here are a list of the Greater Secrets or Major Arcana of my deck, each
link will take you to a page about the featured Tarot card. Soon I hope
to embark on my second deck, using imagery further removed from the
traditional symbols. For now, I hope you enjoy the cards & that
your inspiration is fired, I found that by creating my own deck the
cards really began to speak to me, I hope they speak to you …

Tarot Readings – The 7 day transformational power Tarot spread

The seven day power spread.

When a client comes to me for a reading looking for fast answers I regularly use this spread to quickly energise the questioner & reveal how they can turn their situation around, reveal new possibilities & move closer to their goals.

Many people think that my cards have some innate ‘magical’ ability, the truth is they are simply painted cards. The power comes from the 30 years I have spent interpreting their meanings, creating my deck & discovering how to create rapport & use my intuition to give empowering, inspiring readings. When people are only able to see trouble & problems, it is, I believe, my job to help them discover solutions. It is imperative to focus on where we are heading instead of the negatives that are limiting us.

It has been proved to me again & again that our thoughts become things, whatever is our primary focus is what our subconscious will try & deliver to us.

When we begin to notice our internal voice, our subconscious programmes we can be pro-active in changing any obsolete beliefs & recreate our reality. This isn’t an ‘instant fix’, we need to commit to make the necessary changes. If we can do something differently over a period of time we can form a new, positive, habit. That is where the Seven day power spread can revolutionise our life.

Below is how I use this spread & an actual example of how it relates to a real reading ….

Position 1 : Acceptance. Assess where you are & then commit to accept that any negativity or doubt will not be tolerated for the next  7 days !.

Position 2 : Honesty. Be scrupulously honest with yourself, when you find the darkness, negativity or gossip seeping back ask yourself, “is this how I really want to live / think ?”

Position 3 : Start well, finish better. At the start of each day reconfirm that you have committed to changing your world. Just before sleep mentally congratulate yourself on everything you have achieved.

Position 4 : Forgive. Forgive all those who have harmed you, including yourself. Really release the past & decide to move forward as the new person you are becoming.

Position 5 : Recognise. Step back & really identify the blocks / beliefs that you know are restricting you.

Position 6 : Go further. When previously your old behaviours or lack of confidence caused you to react in a less than perfect way, mentally step up a gear & really believe in yourself. Imagine how liberating this can become.

Position 7 : Commit. When you begin to see the changes that simply thinking more positively begin to manifest in your life, commit to searching for more positive alternatives in all aspects of your life. You will be amazed.

Accept the differences – Transform Your world

Whenever I give readings one of the commonest, yet hardest, concepts to get across is that sometimes the questioner needs to be ready to accept change within themselves in order to make a new start or achieve their goal. Sounds simple but is one of the hardest concepts to get people to accept.

Inspiration & Tolerance

When you meet someone who inspires you they were sent to present a
lesson that you were meant to learn. Likewise when you encounter someone
who pushes all your buttons, you guessed it, they have a lesson in
tolerance or acceptance that could help you develop as a bright spirit.

Focus on your uniqueness

You are a unique energy. You were put here for a specific purpose. You will face challenges that will enable you to become the best possible version of yourself, if you decide to reach for the possibilities that are presented to you.

If you actively start to assess why some people inspire you & equally why some infuriate you it becomes apparent that inspirational people represent the light, they have some quality that you aspire to or would like to acquire. People who infuriate you are a 'dark mirror' to some aspect of yourself that you would rather not existed, that you wish could be transformed.

Work to accept the differences & transform your world

Forgive the Past – Embrace the Future

Let the past go …

After an extended holiday period in the company of the ones I love, including a family visit, I pondered that perhaps relationships are like pressure cookers that make us create our most powerful spiritual recipes ?. If we can learn to love unconditionally & learn how to handle disagreements or situations that push our buttons, then we are making our most powerful discoveries about ourselves & how we interact with our environment to ultimately create our reality.
Several times over the last few days I have found myself in situations that I had previously struggled to cope with.

I spent the holiday period revisiting my Major Arcana & spent some time at my spiritual home, where I first started on my study of self development. Looking outside of my default behaviours & armed with the keys of my most powerful cards has again shifted my beliefs.

Release negativity & Embrace the light

In order to move ourselves forward we have to release the past, embrace the present & actively visualise a brighter future. Life is too short to harbour grudges. The people who have connected with us at soul level, are by default the people who have affected us, and our development the most.

Release someone, free yourself …

The last few days I have actively forgiven the people who have hurt me. I have decided to finally let go of any residual anger or hurt that has been holding me back. A powerful shift in my life has occurred and I strive now to only remember the positive aspects of all those people who have caused me upset, including myself.

Yes, it is as important to forgive yourself for mis-givings as it is those who have caused emotional upset.

The lesson here is that time spent going over old ground is wasted time. The only way you can allow people to harm you is to allow events that can no longer be altered to unbalance your emotions. We can only remember that every interaction, every relationship, has a lesson that we must learn before we can progress. Though difficult or painful at the time we must always remember that every event in our life is a challenge that reminds us to absorb the lesson, move on & trust that the Universe only wants to provide for us.
I have appreciated every challenge that has arisen over what has been an amazing week. Spiritually & emotionally I truly believe that I have confronted old patterns of negative behaviours and finally decided to get my interactions right over this beautiful holiday. I've chosen to make the right choices & accepted the positive change that has quickly manifested itself, it has been liberating.

Accept your challenges, be patient, pro-actively enjoy your relationships, forgive yourself & those who have wronged you,

Can you now feel how far you can go ?

All the best, Always, Paul x

The World Tarot Card

Tarot Readings

Tarot & relationships – Can changing our behaviour attract Love ?

During our lives we may be lucky enough to have that eyes meet across a
crowded room moment, love at first sight, a meeting that completes
& changes the course of our lives forever. Many times in readings I
meet people who are desperate to find their soulmate, their life
partner, create the relationship that will finally give them the love
& security they have always sought. Just as often I see patterns in
readings that need to be identified to give a better chance of finding
their significant other.

Personality pattern example 1 : 'The fixer'

One of the most common problems I see is the person who is stuck in a
destructive relationship pattern. One such pattern is always going for
the 'exciting bad boy' & then thinking that they will miraculously
be able to turn them in to ideal partner material, highly unlikely.

How then can we attract our perfect mate ?

The first step is to love ourselves. One of my favourite quotes is by
the great comedienne Lucille Ball (1911 – 1989)  who said “Love
yourself first and everything else falls into line. You really have to
love yourself to get anything done in this world.”

From this perspective when we are comfortable with ourselves, when we
know that we are projecting our authentic personalities, only then can
we begin to resonate on the frequency that will attract our perfect
match. If we are projecting an idealised version of ourselves then it
will not be long before the facade crumbles & the foundation of any
fledgeling relationship will undoubtedly flounder.

Example relationship reading using The Major Arcana

I am once again revisiting the Major Arcana cards on the Fool's Journey
as I refresh my deck & relationship with these most powerful
archetypes. I can always tell when someone has a reading that
represents a pivotal period of their lives. Even more so should several
of the Majors or 'key' tarot cards appear in the reading then choices
need to be made in order to release the blocks that may be holding the
questioner back. I am interested in cognitive behavioural techniques
& fascinated that some main stream therapists are now using the
Tarot as a means of gaining rapport with their clients.

Here is a simplified example of a recent reading for someone who said
that their relationships always followed the same pattern. After laying
the cards in this sequence I said something along the lines of … ” It
looks to me like you go excitingly rushing in to new relationships full
of optimism ( Fool ). This begins to develop into something meaningful
& you are hopeful that this bond will deepen ( Lovers ). Uh oh,
when the initial excitement begins to fade, doubt & insecurity that
are actually just artefacts left over from previous relationships,
manifest themselves as controlling behaviour, jealousy & petty
arguments ( Devil ). Insecurity & mistrust begins to erode the
foundations of the relationship & you find yourself once more
facing the upheaval of another unhappy union ….

Here is the same behaviour pattern broken down & also as a graphic …

The questioner – The Fool – A new beginning – Innocence – Naivety / trust

The situation – The Lovers – Beginning of romance – optimism – meaningful relationship

The Challenge – The Devil – Jealousy – control – darkness – reactionary behaviour

Possible Outcome – The Tower – Diversion – Insecurity – Doubt – Upheaval

The Advice

From this perspective the destructive behaviour emerges in the form of
the Devil card, the jealousy, the controlling behaviour. If you look at
the image of the Devil card the chains that bind him are self inflicted
& can be released at any time. The darkness of the Devil is in
direct conflict to the pure light energy of the Fool. In this case if
the questioner was able to identify the destructive element creeping in
to her behaviour, the bonds could be broken & the cycle destroyed.

What self limiting pattern of behaviour is limiting you ? Identify a
destructive behaviour today, release it & get ready to watch the
magic happen …

Tarot The Wheel of Fortune – Release uncertainty – Attract abundance

Yesterday I perused the Wheel of Fortune that has appeared with unusual regularity in many recent readings. My latest visitor confirmed that they were emerging from a period of uncertainty & had an underlying feeling of discontent. Even though she wanted to believe in the power of positivity, of attracting abundance, she kept reverting to the deep seated belief that she would never be able to release the insecurity that had always held her back.

As I listened I turned the final card, the outcome. The Major Arcana represents the lessons that must be learnt, the archetypes or behaviours that are the pages that form the story of every persons life.

The next chapter of this persons story suggested that perhaps by visualising The Wheel beginning to turn for her every time doubt crept in, this young lady could begin to accept abundance and manifest the life she had always desired.

This reading brought up ideas that I believe can benefit everyone …

Release the doubt. Accept finally & unconditionally that you can achieve anything you desire. You have exactly the same right as anybody, move out of your comfort zone, small changes can have big results.

Be honest with yourself. If doubt or fear is keeping you from moving forward, acknowledge this & challenge every self limiting thought as it arises.

Identify your purpose. When you finally understand why you are here & start to share your unique gifts with the world, life can become effortless bringing richness to every interaction.

I hope The Wheel of Fortune begins to turn for you,

To your success !

New Moon in Aries – Time to reach for your dreams

The Aries new Moon will have wide reaching consequences. As an Aries
myself this configuration is the point at which the instability &
uncertain feelings of the last few months or even years are released.
This powerful Moon will have an impact on everyone regardless of their
sign, it is that significant. Like a fairground ride that suddenly
accelerates, forcing us to forget anything but the exhilaration of the
moment. This New Moon is the embodiment of pure Aries energy that makes
us re-assess anything that has been hampering our development. This
Moon takes no prisoners, we must grasp our new reality and rediscover
our true self once & for all.

Global shifts

There are massive global shifts happening that will continue to occur
more often. I feel that the natural disasters we have experienced are
set to increase & may even impact closer to home. This
unpredictability of mother nature should lead all of us to be more
responsive, more ready to live in the moment.

What does this mean for you ?

This is a perfect time to release all fear & doubt. The planetary
alignment though tempered slightly by retrograde Mercury, allows every
one to finally reveal the best version of themselves. Everyone should
now reach out for their dreams, release all emotional blocks &
decided to really live life in the moment. Take time to remove yourself
from the 'thousand things' of your daily existence, begin to notice
elements of your life & people that are a drain on your psychic
battery, seek out experiences to replace these that will energise you
and move you forward.

If you have ever wanted to create the life you desire, the right time
is undoubtedly during the New Moon in Aries. I always stress that if
you follow the same path, you reach the same destination. Even small
changes in your daily life now can have huge impact on your new
reality. As I said in the previous post, recognise negativity &
actively work to turn doubt in to positivity. Any opportunities that
present themselves should be accepted wholeheartedly & given %110
attention. This is a time of untold possibility, events now can impact
the rest of your life. Expect a surprise this month, no, expect a
miracle !

Un-tapped potential can be released during the Aries New Moon, remember
to stay positive, to see the good in everyone & the potential and
abundance that is set to flood your world.

I am again focusing on the Fool's journey & am revisiting the Major
Archetypes, the greatest secrets of Tarot to challenge my outlook. The
Fool has released all blocks & is set to leap in to a brighter
future unburdened by previous restrictive patterns. I absorbed the
message of the Fool as I had him tattooed on to my skin.

Are you ready to release the past & embrace a brighter future ?.

May the New Moon manifest everything you desire …

Who are you judging ? Tarot Judgement & Temperance

Judgement & Blame, Change your perception, change your life …

If we make a conscious decision to erase negativity & judgement from our thought process the emotional burden of never taking personal responsibility and judging all those we interact with can be lifted. This can have a huge
impact on moving forward in life. I have just given a reading for a
lovely lady who simply could not escape what she referred to as 'her
darkness'. In the position of her spread that related to interaction,
my card that revealed itself was Judgement. One of the interpretations
I have discovered related to this combination is that the questioner
may be trapped by being judgemental. By automatically judging others
and apportioning blame all we are doing is perpetuating a cycle that
will only ever attract negativity. It sounds simple & indeed it is.
If you think about it the concept of looking for the good in people or
situations is at the basis of practically every belief based system for
personal development. By only searching for positivity you will
automatically attract new happier opportunities into your existence.

The next card in the lady's reading was also a powerful Major Arcana
card, Temperance. I find often in order to try & break limiting
patterns of behaviour, it is important to focus away from the negative
trait & shift our consciousness to a more beneficial mode of
thought. I asked my sitter to focus on the Temperance card, the calm
winged young woman standing with one foot on land & the other in a
cool flowing river, symbolising the shifting of ideas. The liquid
travelling horizontally between the vessels in her hand against the
laws of gravity, showing that change, however seemingly impossible was
now within her grasp. Leaving this impression with my visitor I asked
her to consciously challenge every judgemental thought as it arose
& actively see the magic, the opportunity, the good in everybody.

Try this yourself, make a conscious decision to erase negativity &
Judgement from your thought process. I believe you will be surprised
how the Universe repays you with light and opportunity.

Wishing you happiness & success, Paul xx
