Over a quarter of century ago I was gifted my first
tarot deck in Glastonbury by my sister, herself a talented clairvoyant /
counsellor. As I excitedly watched the painted characters come to life
& dance before me, a powerful transition occurred…

I had discovered my
destiny.

Glastonbury tor has
fascinated me for as long as I can remember. The Tor was visible in the
distance from the garden of my childhood home.

I recognized the
power long before I could explain it. I used to cycle to the Tor from a
very young age, later, at the summit of this ancient monument I gave
some of my first & undoubtedly best readings to interested passers
by. As I sat I absorbed each of the cards deep in to my subconscious. At
the summit of the Tor the real world faded away, my preferred world, the
' other world ', that was to become my domain, was within my grasp.
Time stood still ; I could sense the energies of generations the
mysterious power of the ancients.

The power of the
Tor still overwhelms me today. Wherever I am in the world I can tune
into the Tor and it is as is if I were there, experiencing its
incredible vibrations. So glad that this years Glasto festival has been basking in sunshine, it truly is a magical place…

I am suddenly receiving many hits from one of my absolutely favourite places, the magnificent India. I have set up a temporary URL & am thinking what services to offer. Obviously they will be free, life is much less tainted by the sordid topic of coin in India & I for one LOVE it. I first traveled to India armed with a ' quick fix
' book called something like ' heal your life today !. ' I naively
thought that as I turned the last page, my life would be magically
transformed to a dreamlike existence. In fact I realise now this time
was a catalyst in formulating my plan for where I wanted my life to
lead. I have met incredible mystics on my travels & they are always polite enough to humour my witterings. My study of Tarot and the Psychic arts will always continue,
however, many other areas of interest have opened for me directly because of my Indian encounters. Yes, I regularly visit India, Thailand & Sri Lanka where I meet some
incredibly enlightened people who are selfless enough to introduce me to ancient wisdom that takes my breath away, however I have to survive most of the time in the maelstrom of London. At the heart of most belief systems there are simple concepts,
that if you are receptive, can liberate you from confusion. The concept
of ' going inside ' & stilling the mind to listen to the inner
voice fascinates me & I can't wait to receive some more words of
wisdom. I have been studying the seven chakras since my last amazing jaunt around India &
though I have barely scratched the surface, I now intend to explore this
concept more fully. I have encountered the chakras and their power in
controlling our energy, the chakras are embedded in my Nine of

Tarot, as we know it today, was invented sometime in the middle 15th century in Italy. It closely mirrored the playing cards of the day. Some believe that people had started using playing cards for divination purposes and the tarot were just a refined version of these cards. These basics playing cards had four suits of ten cards each. These cards were brought to Europe from the Islamic world. It is thought that tarot originated when gypsies and astrologers started using ordinary playing cards to 'tell fortunes'. During the 15th century, special cards were added to the playing cards. Later, these became known as the major arcana cards, then called the trumps or triumphs, The Greatest Secrets. The major arcana cards consist of 22 cards with titles rather than numbers and suit. Each one has a strong symbolic meaning steeped in astrology, numerology & kabbalistic references. These 22 Clues are considered to be the 'leaders' of the tarot deck. The remaining 56 cards are refered to as the minor arcana cards. usually these cards are split into four suits: cups, staves, swords and coins. Though there are many variations on this. So in total there are 78 secrets, 78 journeys that need to be experienced.
Tarot has evolved since it's original form. Becoming more complex and rich in symbology. The cards themselves have gained meaning over the years from the cultures that adopted their use. Some cards have come and gone, like The Pope, The Juggler, The Arrow etc. however, around the 17th century, tarot evolved into the form we now recognise, though endless arguments abound over the true tarot sequence. Many famous alchemists and prophets have used tarot, including Nostradamus and Aristotle.
Tarot cards align with the energies projected onto them. As you shuffle the deck, you and your energies conspire to place the cards where they will be most beneficial for you. I always shuffle the deck until the cards feel right. Some people shuffle the cards three times then cut. it is really up to the questioner, or 'querent'. Tarot taps into the psychological realm, or the subconscious of the user to give their answers.
For centuries, people have been using symbols as a type of divination. Tarot is no different. Each of the 78 cards has an individual meaning and myriad sub meanings. Tarot is an interactive Divination art. The cards interact with each other, giving them new and evermore complex meaning.
You place the cards into various spreads where the placement of each card gives it even further meaning. Where cards fall in the spread has a lot to do with how they interact with each other. A card representing the past will influence a cards representing the present and the future. Many of you regularly using my free Tarot readings have recently been opting for the more Spiritual orientated layouts. The Mandala Tarot spread is suddenly & surprisingly very popular. I believe how you interpret events really does create your reality. If you decide and really make a conscious effort to 'look on the bright side', it definitely has a cumulative effect that begins to attract happier events in to your life.

I am not saying that we should blindly stumble through life spouting joy even in the face of the most adverse days. Sometimes it is necessary if not vital to 'let off steam'. When we can find a balance that allows us to react from a neutral point we know that we are truly living our lives truly in tune with the energies of our world. As an example of how different people react to the same situation I'd like to invite you to :

Run for Your LIVES !!!

How we react to the world around us is the most amazing aspect of our earthbound existence. In this fast paced world we are exposed to ever more stimuli & demands on our time. Therefore it is increasingly important to recuperate, to spend time & energy doing the things you like to do. Nourish yourself by really absorbing yourself in what drives you, that which validates your existence. I read with interest today about the mystery mural that has been accredited to 'guerilla artist'  Banksy, in the beer garden of the Princess of Wales pub in London's Primrose hill. How fabulous that what a few years ago was considered grafitti is now considered high art. Amazing that if this is the work of the elusive Banksy that he would risk being exposed or even possible arrest for the sake of his art. I wish this was true but my gut feeling is that it is a fake, but fun nonetheless.

My window to the world …Is it different to yours ?

As I read the story this morning on the tube I realised that the internet had become my window to the world. I also wondered why the painting had struck such a chord with me, it is then I realised that the girl & the lion in the image connected with Strength from the Tarot, my own personal way of decoding my life experience. Someone else looking at the same painting would no doubt have a different response, anger at the 'grafitti' fear at the image of the lion or some other response at the tag line of 'Run for Your Lives'.

As an experiment next time you find yourself responding to external stimuli why not challenge this response. Is it a conditioned knee jerk reaction ?

Small changes in our outlook can lead to huge changes in our reality …
